Disabling your Windows Logon Password is not recommended because there are a number of way by which you could compromise sensitive personal data that could be protected otherwise.
Simply put, without it, your PC would be rendered vulnerable. This is because they can not only access all your files but also send email using your identity.
Conversely, disabling it means being able to move away from your PC for sometimes and coming back to screen which does not require you to enter a password yet again.
It might not seem much of a risk since you can encrypt your data using a third-party encryption tool.
So, with that said, here is how you can disable the password depending on which version of Windows you are using:
Windows 7 & Vista – Click “Start”. Then type “netplwiz” and hit the Enter key.
Windows XP – Click “Start” and “Run”. Then type control userpasswords2 and hit the Enter key.
Windows 8 – Use the Search Charm in order to look for “netplwiz”. Or select “netplwiz” in the Apps sections too.
Now, once you have the dialog box opened, ensure that the account you boot into has been selected while also unchecking the “Users must enter a username and password”. You will have to enter your password twice when you click OK.
The next time you boot Windows, you won’t have to enter a password. However, your hardware might ask you for one and for that you will have to go the setup screen in order to disable that too.
If you don’t know how to do this, look for how-to articles over the Web using the keyword BIOS password along with the PC model number and make. You should find what you need.
