The tedious task of filing your old emails so you can find them later if needed? Forget it. That’s according to author and Financial Times columnist Tim Harford. Writing on his blog, Harford said that not filing past emails is one of the “Ten Commandments” that busy people should follow to live more productive lives.
Instead, Harford recommends simply using the “archive” function available in most modern email programs to get old emails out of your main Inbox. According to Harford, the search functions within today’s email programs are so advanced that it’s quicker to search for an old email from a friend or business associate than it is to find it in a categorized archive.
